Welcome to FRASER VALLEY FLYFISHING.

Dave Henry

My name is Dave Henry, a fly angler from Langley, British Columbia. I grew up here in the Fraser Valley and, like many here, got my first taste of fishing trolling for salmon in the ocean. Years back I was introduced to river fishing and shortly after had a flyrod thrust into my hands. It wasn’t long before flyfishing became an obsession and eventually just a fact of life. Over the years in addition to exploring most of the Fraser Valley’s nooks and crannies, I’ve managed to fish some of B.C.s best waters including the Queen Charlotte Islands and the Skeena system. I’ve owned two jet boats, both allowing me access to some of our watershed’s most remote and beautiful rivers. I’ve also been lucky enough to travel with rods in hand to places such as Cuba, Eastern Canada and multiple trips to Belize, Mexico and the Bahamas. I love travel as much as fishing and am fortunate both compliment each other so well. My first love of flyfishing would have to be chasing the various saltwater species found in the Tropics. At home I prefer to fish with double handed rods for just about anything that swims.

SARAH HENRY

My wife Sarah is a relatively new recruit to the flyfishing world. Although she has only been at it for a few years, she has been places and accomplished things many dream of. We have travelled together, fishing for exotic species and have spent time on many remote rivers. Recently, on our honeymoon, Sarah landed a womens flyfishing class tippet world record Roosterfish.  Sarah is a self-confessed Roosterfish addict and will, no doubt, land many more record fish in years to come. Watching Sarah continue to progress and learn is one of the best parts of fishing for me. Her excitement about things that most of us take for granted is an inspiration and makes every day on the water that much more fun.

Kirk Gilchrist

Kirk Coho Kirk is a certified trout hound who lives in Tswassen, B.C. Like myself, he grew up in the Fraser Valley and has extensive knowledge of the area and it’s fish. Kirk spent some time working in Flyfishing distribution before moving into brick distribution. He is often found lurking around the Kirk Pittbeaches and estuaries looking for salmon or cutthroat. Even more often he can be found working in a flyshop trying to pay off yet another pair of Simms waders…..

Love the website – loved the wedding – loved the fish. Your pictures and comments are really worth looking at even for an “outsider” like me. Love to see the passion for the life coming through!
