My friend Ed Kunze, a guide in Zhiuatenejo Mexico,  just sent me this video of Sailfish attacking a bait ball. From the surface all you would see is birds diving into a school of baitfish. Am I the only one who wants to go back to Mexico?

Well today myself and a friend hit the flow. The reports had been great! and apparently  alot of people get the same reports. The river was a bustlin with foot traffic today and everyone was havin a good time regardless of  catching or not. So I arrived at 10:30 am and found  Dan down at the “beat” he said he had been through first and then the five guy’s standing in the run now, had arrived so we moved up. We had only been in the upper run for ten or so mins when Dan hooked up! After a 15 min battle a bright fish was delivered to the beach a few snaps later and off she went back on her way. Well I thought YES here we go fresh horny fish this is going to be a good maybe great day. Wrong, no more fish for either of us however I did see a few more caught, caught in water that I thought I had covered VERY well.  All in all it was a good day after the weather cleared up and the river cleaned up later on in the afternoon. So I’m 0/3 this year for steel, and it’s looking like it may stay this way with the new addition to our family arriving sometime in late April. However stillwater season and warmer temps are coming soon, and the way I see it…well maybe I keep those plans between me and Coen! jk!

Till next time:)

Well hello there it’s been awhile since my last post, I’ve managed to get out a few times for cutty’s and steel. For steel i’m 0/2 however for cutty’s I’ve been having a great time finding good numbers. Now I think that I said I would try to take more pic’s well I’m getting better but I’m not by any means taking enough. Here’s a few from today with Coen and a friend Matt. We only found a couple of cutts today but it was well worth it. Both fish were caught on a size 8 fry pattern using floating line and slow drop style retrieve, and sight fishing.
